The house by Lake Balaton was designed by Peter Kiss. We were happy to continue working on this project. The building was intended to be used as a vacation home, and we designed it accordingly.
The house is characterized by large and spacious areas, as if everything is grouped in one space, yet still separated. It’s truly exciting that thanks to the enormous windows, the outdoor space almost merges with the interior.
There were many architectural and structural constraints that we had to adhere to. In the living room, we designed a unique, multifunctional sofa that stands as an island in the space, serving as a guest bed at times and a venue for great conversations with friends at other times.
In the bedroom, there is a really interesting built-in wardrobe. The ceiling plane underneath the furniture appears as a division on the wardrobe, hinting at the structure behind it.
The building does not have a separate hallway; the kitchen island serves this function (storage, shoe cabinet within the kitchen island). The building is minimal and functional. Everything was designed with the goal of maximizing utility; there is no excess in the building, only what ensures peace, clarity, and relaxation.
